Guilty after jury trial. 29 years in prison. Actually innocent. Every criminal defense lawyer's nightmare.

Posted by Steven H. Fagan | May 15, 2015 | 0 Comments

Criminal defense attorneys in Chicago and around the country are simultaneously cringing today. You see, justice has been done. Thank G-d. Unfortunately, it took 29 years of a man's life to get there. That justice didn't come from a jury, who found the defendant guilty of multiple counts of criminal sexual assault, but instead, as a pardon from a Governor.

ABC News reported that another man more recently confessed that he had perpetrated the crimes for which Michael McAllister had been convicted. The two men practically looked like twins at the time the offenses were committed, and McAllister was mistakenly identified.

If you or a loved one faces serious accusations in Illinois, the experienced Illinois criminal defense lawyers at Fagan, Fagan & Davis can help. Call now.
