Chicago Area Criminal DUI and Traffic Case Results

Reckless Driving in Chicago

July 2013

Our client was driving at speeds approaching criminal levels (anything 31 MPH over or more is criminal in Illinois). He was changing lanes without giving a signal. Following too close, cutting off other car, and when confronted by the Illinois State Police Trooper, told the officer he agreed would consider his driving reckless. The Trooper obliged our client's opinion and wrote every ticket he could, including a criminal Reckless Driving citation punishable by up to 364 days in jail.

The prosecution agreed to dismiss the Reckless Driving and all other charges except the petty speeding ticket, no fine, mandatory court costs and five days of community service at the charitable organization of our client's choice.

Court: Cook County Circuit Court, 1st Municipal District at the Daley Center, Chicago
